What sun filters do you use in your Sun lotions?Updated 13 hours ago
We offer both Mineral only Sun Lotions and Mineral & chemical Sun Creams, giving you the choice of what works best for your skin and preferences.
Mineral Filters (Physical Sunscreens):
Mineral filters work by sitting on the skin's surface and reflecting UV light away. They are often preferred for sensitive skin and children due to their gentle, non-reactive nature.
We use only non-nano forms of:
- Titanium Dioxide
- Zinc Oxide
These are natural, broad-spectrum filters that do not penetrate the skin or enter the bloodstream.
Chemical Filters (Organic Sunscreens):
Chemical filters work by absorbing UV rays and converting them into heat through a chemical reaction. Some chemical filters may release free radicals as a by-product of this process, but we carefully select filters with low reactivity and high skin compatibility.
Our chemical filters include:
- Isoamyl p-Methoxycinnamate
Derived from cinnamic acid, this UVB filter has a much lower potential for free-radical generation compared to conventional filters. - Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate
A UVA filter known for its excellent safety profile. It’s well-tolerated by even sensitive skin and suitable for use in children’s sun lotions. - Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone
A super photostable UVB filter, rated as a ‘Green’ ingredient by the EWG Skin Deep Database (score of 1–2). It is free from known health or environmental concerns.
Antioxidant Protection:
To help counteract any potential free-radical damage, we enrich all our sun lotions with powerful natural antioxidants, including:
- Green Tea
- Olive Leaf
- Edelweiss
- Rosemary
- Avocado Oil
These ingredients help protect your skin on a deeper level, providing both soothing and restorative benefits.
